The Snake Pit

The Snake Pit is a Shenzhen institution and one of Chinas longest established expatriate bars. Originally formed to service the oil industry riggers working offshore in the South China Sea, the club is now the focal point for the Shekou expat community and is home to the local Hash House Harriers as well as rugby and soccer clubs. Members only – (anyone at the bar will vouch for you if you turn up) with a time honored drinking ritual to join and some of the cheapest beer in China. If you’re in South China – you need to visit.
