Our school used to be called Qingdao American International School, but changed prior to this school year to become Qingdao Amerasia International School.

QAIS offers American college preparatory curriculum aligned with the Common Core Standards. We are a candidate to become an IB World School offering the Primary Years Program and the Diploma Program. We are also an official SAT & AP test center, and offer courses to support students in those examinations.
The QAIS Children’s House is the first school in China to pursue full accreditation with the American Montessori Society (we are currently one of fifteen AMS ‘Full Member’ schools in China).
We fully subscribe to the Montessori and IB philosophies of building a love of learning through inquiry-based and experiential learning. We offer a wide range of co-curricular activities both on our campus and nearby.
QAIS is the only international school in Qingdao’s downtown Shinan district.
