Bringing Pets Back into the Home Country

Dear All,

After a wonderful three years in China, the time has come to return to the US and restart life in the home country. I am interested in bringing my dog back with me. I have looked at the government and airline websites but the information, as is typical, is fairly cryptic and vague. Does anyone have any experience with brining pets back into the home country who can provide some advice?

Cheers!

Does your dog have a passport ?

To bring your furry friend into the United States, you'll need: a suitable travel crate, water containers to attach to the crate, newspaper or "doggie diapers" for inside the crate, a blanket or dog bed, a dog "passport" or the equivalent proving that your dog's vaccines are up to date, and an official veterinary health certificate.
