Greetings from the U.S.
Is it possible for a Chinese citizen to trade U.S. stocks from Mainland China online or at a brokerage with no restrictions? Ex., brokers - Huatai Securities, Haitong Securities, etc.
From what I understand, it's possible in HK:
Ex., Schwab - http://www.schwab.com.hk
"Trade stocks listed on major US stock exchanges, including the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), AMEX, US regional exchanges, and the NASDAQ and over-the-counter (OTC) markets."
"This site is principally designed for Hong Kong residents."
The reason I ask is because I've invested in a small U.S. company, Esprit Financial Group [Symbol: EFGO] which is merging with an impressive, growth-oriented Chinese company, Hebei Haorizi Company Ltd. (Good Life Group Ltd.).
If this sounds like a plug, you're partly correct; excited about the prospects but, of course, do your own research/due diligence.
Anyway, a few investors claiming to live in Beijing or Hebei have also claimed that they are buying the stock. Hope this is true, but I'm not sure it's possible, even with the rapid modernization of the Chinese banking and brokerage system.
