Chengdu: vegetarian community?

Dear expats,

is there something like a vegetarian community in Chengdu? Or do you happen to be vegetarian/ vegan and live in Chengdu?

Thanks,
Cx

Former

I'm a former Chengdu vegetarian. Community-wise, not too much. However, as you probably already know, the temple there has an unbelievably good restaurant! If you haven't been you're missing out!!!

Chengdu Vegetarian Restaurant

Chengdu has quite a few temples. However, the one referred to above is most likely to be the Wenshu Temple Vegetarian Restaurant, just off Renmin Zhong Lu on Wenshu Yuan Jie

Vegetable shops in Yantai

What type of vegetables are vegetables available in yantai? I have been posted to yantai and probably living there for atleast 3 years with my family. We are all vegetarians and can any one tell us if there are any vegetable shops and restuarents in yantai?

Vegetables a plenty

I can't speak specifically for Yantai, but Chinese cities tend to have very large vegetable markets. You need to be fairly careful at restaurants to make sure you don't get a big hunk of pork stuck in, but if you cook yourself there are tons of veggies.

vegetarian community in chengdu

hey, this is a bit late but to answer your question if you're still here--yes, there is.

please send me an e-mail if you're interested in participating in some veg projects we're working on, or if you just have some questions/want some info on vegetarian eating here in chengdu.

cheers

jane

vegetarian cookbook zine in chengdu

hey, anybody interested in vegetarianism in chengdu--a cookbook zine has just been published to aid vegetarians living in chengdu. if you're interested in a paper copy (available for pickup only) send an e-mail to hapatofu [at] gmail [dot] com.
thanks and have a nice day!

a PAPER zine aint so healthy for the environment

Sure, eat healthy but don't go messing with the environment. And if you kill anyone, make sure to eat their heart to gain their courage. Gotta laugh when do gooder vegans talk of healthy eating habits. Some even pretend to be environmentally conscious then they go print paper to distribute what is really nuthin much than environmentally unfriendly waste instead of coming straight out and admitting that they are just trying to compete in an indirect way with an existing slew of commercially oriented printed material anyways. WTF? why not just upload the relevant part of the so called zine to a site such as this one at China Expat or any other free blog u can access instead of getting simple honest folks come running to you to collect your rag after all or is this just some kind of scam in the first place?
