Air and Water Purifiers

I am moving to Chengdu this coming February to study Chinese medicine and am aware of the fact that Chengdu has pretty bad air pollution. I was wondering if it is easy to find air purifiers for my apartment or if that is something I should bring with me from the states. Also, wondering the same with regards to water purifiers for the tap and shower...are these easy to find or should I bring them with me?

I lived in Chengdu for a year, I dont think you need such a thing. The air is much better than Beijing.
