I'm trying to get into cooking Chinese style, but everyone I asks always says that they just "know how" and they don't have cookbooks etc. I guess they just learned from their mothers or something, but unfortunately, I never did. So my question is how do I learn? Can you hire a cooking ayi to teach you, or do they just cook? Can I just befriend an eldery Chinese woman?
I need some help here! also, why is it that in Chinese families the women always cook, but in restaurants the men always do? Intriguing.
