Renting apartments during the Olympics

There are two ways to look at this. First, I have an apartment in Beijing. I'm not necessarily inclined to rent it out during the games, but I started doing the math on how much a hotel will cost for two weeks and it occurred to me that I could make out pretty well renting my place out. So if people are looking I'd be interested in hearing what the market looks like.

On the flip side I have some friends who may want to rent places here for a few weeks. I know, you're probably thinking "why not give them your place?" Well, if I have friends come, I would stay. They wouldn't let me move for the events anyway. Also, there are two many of them so I would have to look for other options unless I want people all over my apartment, some of whom are older types.

So If you're looking to rent, or rent out, I'm all ears.

Not looking

But I figure that a hotel room during the Olympics is probably about 500 dollars a night or more, so over two weeks a decent 2-bedroom should be worth at least 5 thousand, maybe 8 for the month. I have no data to back it up, but a convenient one with good facilities should fetch that much.

If you want a good idea of how much poeple will rent their places, I would look at the site www.RentAtTheGames.com. People are already listing for Beijing, Vancouver and even London's Olympics.

If you are looking to rent your place during the Olympics, go to www.RentAtTheGames.com. This is a free site that you can list and search places for rent during the Olympics.
