Shanghai Bars

Face - it's always great to sit out in the garden there. Sometimes on a Sunday, with a book and a cigar and a bottle of chablis, and just sit down...very relaxing...

Laris - Been to the bar in the centre of the restaurant ? Munch on Davids home made selection of chocolate (the dark chocolate with sichuan pepper filling is the bomb) and splash out on a bottle of Yquem or if that doesn't fit your budget, Brown Brothers Orange Muscat will do as well. If you need to apologize to your g/f or wife for some expatriate fuelled mis-behaviour, this will go a long way towards fixing it...

M-Zone - Because Maria is there and after all she's had to deal with recently it is great to see her on track and happy.

Barbarossa - Just across from our offices in Peoples Park. Great food, wines, and hookahs. Brilliant Arabic lounge....

Some more bars worth a look

Taras - the new Senses, located on Fuxing Xi Lu near Wulumuqi (right across from the JZ Club) is a nice place to relax and have a cocktail. A rather small wine list, though a few gems, and some excellent rum and scotch choices

The Spot - the new "it" place, we'll have to see how long that lasts. This bar, located up the street from Malone's is a favorite with the twenty-thirty something crowd. An extensive menu, though the beer list needs a bit of work.

Bar 288

There's an okay spot called Bar 288, The Melting Pot on Tai Kang Lu. It's not super big on atmosphere unless you like kinda pub-by, which I do.

Citizen

Citizen is a pretty nice spot and definitely worth a look. it's at 222 Jin Xian Rd
