at is the deal with men's handbags? Seriously. Why do Chinese men like them so much? Are they supposed to be manly?
I've heard this is a sign of wealth and really upscale designers like Gucci and Prada design them specifically for the Chinese male market.
Is this a traditional thing? In Journey to the West did they have early male bags of some sort? This is probably the most disturbing trend in Chinese fashion ever trumping the rolled at the mid-rift wife beater in summer, and those insanely long and pointy high-heeled shoes that women here used to wear.
Am I alone on this?

I don't know why you're hating on people. You should look at it as a good investment opportunity. I think they look good! Besides, you think women wouldn't like that, but I've never met a girl who wouldn't rather give their man all their stuff to carry!

I hope I didn't come off as disrespectful about local culture. It is fair to say English culture is more than a wee bit absurd itself.

I don't think it's offensive myself.
The handbag trend is funny and ridiculous, as is the combover trend. But Americans wore, and wear, platform shoes which are awful. Penny loafers are ugly and outdated, and people wear those.
I think we should be able to make fun of inanity wherever it may be! It's what makes life fun. If it disappears, life would be boring.
I say long live the combover and men's handbag!!!

We can talk about all the bad fashion trends you want, but other then men wearing fur coats or speedos (hooray Brasil!) this is about as bad as it gets.

Mi dispiace Signore Protectie, I'm an editor, so I must point out that handbags are 'chick' if they pertain to young women, which is wrong; they pertain to old women as well. Are they 'chic'? Perhaps, but what would veri uomini like Rocco Balboa say about wearing a purse?
