China Expat

Date Spot in Beijing

I'm looking for a nice quiet date-restaurant with forieng food. Italian, French, or Spanish would be great. A nice wine selection would be very helpful too. What kinds of options are there out there and how much do they tend to cost.

A patio or outside area would be a big plus.

Hou Hai

It's always nice to have a night at Hou Hai. With the lake there she won't be able to resist you on a nice spring evening!

Too Touristy

Isn't a Hou Hai a bit touristy and busy to be considered romantic? I mean it's really nice and all, but all those people!

Vineyard

Yineyard down near Yonghegong is fairly romantic. If you want more Chinese there is a Duck place (upscale) at the south west part of the worker's stadium which is really nice with a pretty (fake) pond

Hunan place in Chaoyang

South of Pavillion about 200 meters on the same side of the street there's a little alley. There are a few restaurants down there, but the Hunan place back about 50 meters on the left is quite elegant. Give that a shot!

Gui jie

It's not exactly quiet, but the food is great and it's a nice local area!
