Getting a VISA fr my son, born in China

Hi all,

I am trying to find out what I need to do to have my residency permit extended to my son's passport who was born in China in october 2006.

Nobody seems to be able to answer me, surely this is not a unique case, any other expat here who has had a child born in China?

Thanks

Josh

More information

Josh,

What nationality are you? According to the US Embassy's website you will need to register with your embassy in order to get a passport which will be needed 'to depart the country.' They don't specify, or seem to imply, that any specific visa application is needed while still in the country, but you should get a foreign passport for the child as soon as possible. Once out of the country normal visa procedures should apply.
