Visa Extensions
Jason,
You do not necessarily need to leave China. If you have a double-entry and want to take a trip to an area not considered 'mainland' (ie- Hong Kong, or neighboring countries), you can leave and come back without paying more. If you came in on a single-entry, you will need to get a new visa before you can re-enter.
However, if you would prefer not to leave at all, for a few hundred yuan you can get an extension at the local public security bureau (PSB). BE CAREFUL: if you overstay your visa there will be a MUCH larger fine and considerable hassle.

Tourist Visa
If I want to extend my tourist visa, how many days can I add. My original visa was 90 days and I'd like to add another 90 days. Is that possible without leaving the country?
