We’re all familiar with the concept of modern technology having ancient Chinese analogues. But a 2002 discovery in remote Qinghai province is anachronistic enough to constitute an OOPart. Out-of-place-artifacts are so unusual, or found in such improbable contexts, that mainstream science has no plausible explanation for them.
The crystal skulls of Mexico referenced in the latest Indiana Jones movie, the iron pillar of Delhi, and the ancient Greek Antikythera mechanism are examples of OOPart yet to be explained. Like these, the pipes of Qinghai’s Mount Baigong suggest a level of technology simply inconceivable for the apparent era of their manufacture. Those open-minded enough to think “extraterrestrial” when searching for a theory, while often dismissed out-of-hand, have like-minded souls in some of the Chinese scientists investigating.
Locals, residing forty kilometers southeast of Qinghai’s Delingha city, have known of the pipes for centuries. They credit aliens for their construction, and even have legends of extraterrestrial visitors to Mt. Baigong. Although the stories are met with predictable skepticism, they become harder to laugh off when one takes in the sixty-meter pyramid near the mountain’s summit. Superficially, the pyramid could be shrugged off as having been shaped by natural forces. For some reason, however, the structure has not been conclusively studied, at least officially.
Near the foot of Mt. Baigong lie three caves, the largest and most accessible some eight meters high by six meters deep. Inside, spanning from the roof to the back end of the cave, runs a pipe 40 cm in diameter. Another one roughly the same size runs into the earth from the floor, with just the top protruding.

The pipes, according to tests carried out at a local smeltery, are made chiefly of iron, but with an unusual thirty percent silicon dioxide in their matrix. They are also centuries old, if Xinhua and its source, Liu Shaolin, the engineer who carried out preliminary tests, are to be believed. Strange, but easily written off as a bizarre metallurgical operation by some nomads with too much time on their hands, assuming geological origins of the eerily symmetrical pyramid.
However, dozens of pipe openings have been discovered in the mountains far above the caves. Now these nomads must be credited with some advanced system of drilling since forgotten, as there is no modern industry in the area nor record of such. Not far from the foot of Baigong sits Toson Lake, on whose beach run many more iron pipes in unlikely patterns and in a variety of diameters, toothpick-sized at the thinnest. More pipes are in the lake, some protruding above the water surface, others buried beneath the lake’s bed.
Although nine Chinese scientists were reportedly dispatched to make a detailed analysis of the pipes in 2002, there has been no further information. This hasn’t prevented local government from promoting the site as a tourist attraction. A CCTV crew went to Mt. Baigong soon after, accompanied by researchers from the Beijing UFO Research Association, but no record or footage of the expedition has come to our attention. If this is because such documentation would be widely laughed off, then they would at the expense of Yang Ji, a research fellow of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences who told Xinhua that the extraterrestrial theory was “understandable and worth looking into”.
Then again, plain old terrestrial science has many mysteries left to be fully explained. Similar pipe-like structures have been found in the Jurassic sandstone of the Southwestern United States, as well as in Citronelle formations in Louisiana. No pyramids have been found close on, and researchers have concluded that they were formed through natural processes. But similar conclusions from scientists studying the Baigong pipes have yet to be announced, six years later.

Connect a wire from the pipes coming out of the roof to a light bulb positive terminal and another wire from the negative terminal of the light bulb to the pipe in the ground…. you will probably blow up the light bulb. The compressed silicon dioxide in the pipes are piezoelectric and the current is carried in the iron. When you ground it..the current flows. This is simple free energy technology that is being covered up for thousands of years. You can get the same technology in the Ark of the covenant if you put 2 red granite quartz stones inside it and another on top…. it will throw of lightning bolts up to a mile away. I find it puzzling that no major investigation has been done. Surely, National Geographic would be interested. Some obviously smart, educated people have made comments herein, from one side to the other, but all good premises. Was something found that has been intentionally surpressed? More disinformation? Why?

It is thought that the pipes could be a form of fulgerites, the solidified result of lightning strikes (or one huge bolt of lightning). That would explain the sand(silicon dioxide) mixed in with the iron. Geodes also fit this model and China is where there are many stone balls the size of boulders. You can see several pages in the archive about them. Giant crystals 30 to 50 feet long and 5-10 foot in diameter were found in a Mexican cave. These too are thought to be caused from huge lightning, making the cave a magnificent geode!

Natural formations are rarely angular. Furthermore, the “pipes” come in defined discrete sizes. As if there has been some kind of standardization at work. For this to be a natural formation, we would be rather hard pressed to find similarity in the shapes and orientations, unless they were due to the overall geometric atomic level lattice structures formed under pressure and temperature extremes.

OF course it is possible that these formations were human made in the great antiquity. but the question then arises, why? By whom? And Why? A Composition such as is indicated indicates a great need for corrosive properties. So then why is yet another question.

Until a defined geological process is associated with the formations of these structures, the only possible answer to the cause of this formation would be by an animal of some type for reasons yet unknown. Whether the animal is human, proto-human, not sentient earth native, or EBE is completely inconclusive.

The Chinese government sent a preliminary party of skilled professional geologists up to the site. They reported on what they found to the government. The results were not made public. Soon afterwards, a complete team of investigators followed to the region. Their work, conclusions, results and studies are all censored and are not available to the public.

Has any one been to Yanchep beach, Western Australia. There are also strange pipelike formations in the rocks there. Also rock rings in the water which look like the “rings” formed in boiling porridge that could have been caused by thick,boiling mud cooling and solidifying.

While I have not researched it thoroughly, that is my sense of these phenomena, given decades of training and experience as a geologist. I would like to see a more detailed chemical assay of the formations. Of course, additional pictures and maps would add extra dimensions to the info.

The visitors to the Mt. Baigong, see three caves and the pipes are made of iron, with thirty percent of silicon dioxide in the matrix (according to Liu Shaolin engineer). Promoting local government as a tourist attraction site to the pipes in the lake a few stand out above the water surface and in water. Impossible because there is no modern industry in the area in the century about the making of pipes.

The pipes could have been designed to take water out of the salty lake, desalinate it in the pyramid using some ancient yet brilliant technique and then deposited the water in the reservoir. That would explain why there is a salt water lake and a fresh water lake up there….and it would also explain why the pyramid was built next to the salt water lake.

Similar structures have been found in the American Southwest…..in the Navajo Sandstone…..and since much of the cement holding the formation together is iron cement…..a source does exist.

after looking through a lot of pictures and not being completely stupid,the scientific community has a lot of explaining to do when it comes to explaining these type of anomolies in history,they are more likely to make up a story that fits there standard theiories,there are forces at work here that we are yet to underatand,so lets stop beating about the bush and have some honest discussion about these things,instead of brushing them off as ” unknown”

It’s a natural formation, and a well known one also, and surely not unique. Yes there are angular natural formations, and they are not rare either.
The chinesee released the informations (there is no cover up) it seems they are tree fossiles. They can even see the rings under microscope. Look up at wiki, or if you dont trust the site, google is your friend. Ah avoid all the fringies.
