First Snow Of The Year

The ubermeister at ChinaExpat Towers here always runs a sweepstake in the office to predict the first snow fall of the new winter. It’s a big spread; he tells and shows photos of Beijing three years ago when an early icy breath of Siberia caused Beijings’ air temperatures to plummet 20 degrees in four hours, and dump several inches of snow across the city in just a few hours in the middle of November. Then again, the following year, when Beijing’s natural position in a plain surrounded on three sides by mountains protected the city and not a flake fell. So this year, the spread of diarized possibilities has extended from early November right the way through to the middle of January – a 60 day window. Today though, snow has fallen, and China Expat has the winning ticket. You have to get money from your boss somehow, and snow seems a neat way to do it. Here’s the evidence – spreading salt on the driveway at Palm Springs near Chaoyang at 10am today. It’s been snowing here since 6am.

What this blog needs is more input from the likes of such great writer as Ernie Diaz but what makes him a great writer?. Well , he is is read by thousands of people, but not only that, one whose writings make people react, on reading them, they are moved, they cry, they shout, they revolt sometimes.

    Ernie has succeeded big time.

No one can keep a good man down. Good always prevails over evil , whether the people are jealous or envious of the person, they will never keep him down. Ernie is king of good.

Guess I was too busy being flattered to be accurate, Eeek. Do you know any KTV joints that have Led Zeppelin in the offing? Let me know and the cheap beer will flow like a golden, if slightly rancid river.

  4. Villagekid says:

Yo homie bring ya own LZ to da KTV and Eeeek will golden ya sunshine shower inside out with rancid that dreams are made of. Leave ya rod and broad at the door. Get down and get with it let it all hang loose sweet cheeks.
